INITIATE presented at the Nitrogen & Syngas Conference 2024

On  Monday the 4th of March, our Project Coordinator, Eric van Dijk from TNO, presented the INITIATE project at the 37th Nitrogen and Syngas Conference and Exhibition 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The conference and exhibition provided a platform for technical professionals from across the nitrogen and syngas industries to connect, do business, and learn about the latest developments in operations, technology, processes, and equipment. This event is one of the largest gatherings for the global nitrogen and syngas industry – spanning ammonia, urea, methanol, syngas, nitrates, GTL, and industrial gases.

The industry-leading technical agenda showcased the latest technology, process, materials, and equipment developments that are driving operational efficiency, sustainability, and reliability for nitrogen and syngas producers. The conference ran alongside an exhibition of world-class processes, materials, equipment, and technology solution providers who bring invaluable expertise to the audience.

The INITIATE is advancing the implementation of circular economyindustrial symbiosis and carbon capture and utilisation technologies by re-using residual steel gases as a resource for the cross-sectorial, more efficient and less wasteful manufacture of urea, at a significantly reduced carbon footprint. TRL7 piloting combines the continuous production of N2 + H2 and CO2 streams with the innovative ammonia production as a precursor for urea, to be used as fertilizer and AdBlue®.
