INITIATE AT THE 16TH CONFERENCE ON GREENHOUSE GAS CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES
On the 24-25 of October, Nicola Zecca from our project partner Politecnico di Milano participated as a speaker in the two sessions “Iron & Steel” and “CO2 Conversion” at the 16th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT16) in Lyon, France.
During the first session, Nicola gave a presentation on Sorption Enhanced Water Gas Shift (SEWGS) integration in a DR-EAF process and its strong potential to reduce the carbon emissions of this process. The obtained results will be included in Deliverable 5.5 (Opportunities to integrate INITIATE with other industrial symbiotic systems) of our project.

At the CO2 Conversion session, Nicola presented the ongoing preliminary techno-economic assessment of our INITIATE process, linking the different sections of the process, built-in Aspen Plus and Aspen Custom Modeler, along with the SEWGS model from our project partner TNO.
