The INITIATE Project presented at the EuropaCat2023
On the 28th of August, Liliana Lukashuk from our project partner Johnson Matthey presented the INITIATE project at the Treatment of Flue/Exhaust Gases Session during the EuropaCat2023 in Prague, Czech Republic.
During the presentation, the INITIATE technology flowsheet was discussed with a particular focus on the continuous production of N2+H2 and CO2 streams (a feedstock for the ammonia and urea industry) from blast furnace gas (BFG) and basic oxygen furnace gas (BOFG) from the SSAB steel plant in Lulea, Northern Sweden.
The presentation was also an opportunity for Liliana to present the progress made by our consortium towards the INITIATE technology implementation for ammonia production at TRL-7 scale, as well as the lab-scale evaluation and demonstration of the suitability of functional materials for the INITIATE pilot plant campaigns.
