REGISTER FOR THE INITIATE STUDY VISIT TO THE SWERIM PLANT

The INITIATE consortium in cooperation with its project partners Swerim and CO2 Value Europe will hold its first study visit to the Luleå pilot plant on Friday the 17th of February 2023 in Luleå, Sweden.

The event will be hosted at the Luleå SWERIM plant site and will mainly target R&D professionals, PhD and post-docs within the INITIATE consortium interested in familiarising themselves with the demo-scale equipment and in deepening their knowledge of industrial symbiosis and the role of carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) to mitigate climate change.

During the visit, participants will have the chance to take guided visits through the SWERIM pilot plants while learning from and exchanging with the INITIATE Exploitation Team about the current progress and project results.

Swerim is a leading industrial research institute in mining engineering, process metallurgy, materials, manufacturing engineering and applications. Its strength is independent applied research for resource-efficient and sustainable industries, and it has solid knowledge and experience when it comes to applying research results in practical industrial applications. Swerim’s customers are mainly within the mining, steel and metal industries, but they also work closely with suppliers in these sectors. Within the project, Swerim is the operator of the site for the demonstration campaigns in Luleå, Sweden and has pivotal roles in both WP1 (demonstrator build) and WP3 (demonstration of operation industrial symbiosis).
