Driving Innovation in CCU and CCS: INITIATE at the International Forum in Oviedo
From 26-27 February, INITIATE, alongside seven other EU-funded projects, proudly co-organized the International Forum on Recent Cross-Cutting Developments in CCU/CCS in Oviedo, Spain.
The two-day event brought together experts from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and explore solutions for scaling up Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) efforts to meet the EU’s ambitious carbon reduction targets.
Our project was featured in three insightful sessions:
🔵 Session 1: Soledad van Eijk (TNO) – INITIATE: Demonstrating industrial symbioses at TRL7.
🔵 Session 4: Anne Ottenbros (Radboud University) – Forging greener steel: A prospective LCA of decarbonisation technologies for the steel industry and Nicola Zecca (Politecnico di Milano) – Industrial symbiosis between steel and NH3/Urea industries through SEWGS technology.
🔵 Session 5: Soledad van Eijk (TNO) – INITIATE: Outlook towards a FOAK (First Of A Kind).
A big thank you to all participants and speakers for sharing expertise and pushing forward Europe's net-zero transition!
