IPCC Report: The Role of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) to Mitigate Climate Change

On the 4th of April, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published the third part (WG3) of its 6th Climate Report titled “Mitigation of Climate Change.

For the first time in 30 years, the concept of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) is discussed in the report as a solution to decrease net CO2 emissions, as well as as a potential technology to move away from fossil carbon by using CO2 as an alternative feedstock for the production of renewable chemicals and fuels.

The Scientific Advisory Committee of our project partner CO2 Value Europe has participated in the two-round expert review of this report.

To highlight the key messages related to CCU in this report and to connect high-level scientists and policymakers on this subject, our partner organises the conference “IPCC report: The role of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) to mitigate climate change” at the Press Club Brussels Europe on the 26th of April from 2-5 pm (CET).

The event will also be live-streamed and later on, made available on the platform brussels.climate.

The preliminary agenda and registration details can be found here.

The event is free and open to the public.
