International Symposium Catalytic Chemistry of C1 Molecules

The C1 Chem symposium “Catalytic Chemistry of C1 Molecules will take place in Lille (France) from 10-12 July 2024 and its programme will include several plenary, keynote lectures, numerous oral presentations and a poster session.

Papers for the C1 Chem Symposium will be selected by a Scientific Committee of renowned experts. After the symposium, the participants will have an opportunity to submit a full paper to a top chemical journal. The symposium will be conducted as a satellite event of the 18th International Congress of Catalysis.

The ongoing societal transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources requires the development of energy-efficient, selective and waste-free catalytic processes for C1 molecules, which occur under mild conditions. The symposium is intended to offer an update on recent innovations in both fundamental and applied aspects of catalytic utilization of CO2, CO, methane, methanol, formaldehyde and formic acid. The symposium will emphasize catalyst design, thermocatalysis, homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, catalyst characterization, modelling, kinetics, process design and intensification. The event’s goal is to enable researchers from different fields to exchange views and to create a synergy of knowledge.

CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE SOLICITED ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

  • CO2 upgrading (hydrogenation, reduction, CO2 for oxidation/dehydrogenation);
  • Catalytic valorization of methane (methane coupling, partial oxidation, reforming);
  • Methanol-mediated hydrocarbon synthesis from CO and CO2;
  • Fischer-Tropsch synthesis;
  • Synthesis of methanol and dimethyl ether;
  • Synthesis of substituted natural gas (SNG);
  • Conversion of methanol to hydrocarbons.
